The Shorewood Sharks Swim and Dive team is a part of Madison's All-City Swim and Dive League. Divers 18 and under who are members of Shorewood Pool are encouraged to join the dive team. Divers compete in boys and girls events and are grouped by age: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15 & up. The age group that the diver competes in is based on their age as of June 1st.
Each summer, there are seven "dual meets" - and then the biggest and most fun event of the summer is the All City Dive Meet! This is where hundreds of area divers compete over 2 days of competition!
During the summer, there are daily dive practices with Shorewood's awesome dive coaches. The coaches focus on fundamentals, technique, and safety - with the opporunity for participants to compete in a super FUN environment.
The Shorewood Dive Team encompasses divers with all different levels of ability, from those with a focus on recreation, to those who dive year-round and are hoping to set new records.
As of 2013, the Shorewood Dive Team has new diving requirements:
- All 10 and under divers must be able to do four dives to be on the dive team. Divers may join the team at any time during the season in which they become able to perform the required dives.
- All 11 and older divers must be able to do five dives to be on the dive team. Divers may join the team at any time during the season in which they become able to perform the required dives.
- Due to physical and space limitations, dive team members will not be permitted to take diving lessons.
