Swim Team

The Shorewood Sharks Swim and Dive Team is a part of Madison's All-City Swim and Dive League.  Swimmers 18 and under who are members of Shorewood Pool are encouraged to join.  Swimmers compete in boys and girls events and are grouped by age: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15 & up. The age group that the swimmer competes in is based on their age as of June 1st.  Click here for a "Swim Meet 101" overview!

To be eligible to join the Shorewood Sharks Swim Team, all swimmers must be able to complete two widths of the pool (any stroke) with a one-minute break between lengths. Little Sharks must be able to swim one width of the pool without stopping (using any combination of movements). 

Each summer, there are seven "dual meets" - and then the biggest and most fun event of the summer is the All City Swim Meet!  This is one of the largest outdoor swim meets in the country (almost 2,000 swimmers over 3 days of competition!). 

All parents of Shorewood Swim Team Members must volunteer at the home meets - SIGN UP info coming soon.

During the summer, there are daily swim practices with Shorewood's amazing coaches - many consider them the best in the area! - where there is a focus on fundamentals, technique, and skills required for racing.  And - this is what we pride ourselves on too - having a lot of FUN while in a very safe environment.
